TWIST HUB Handbike – powerful and versatile assisted mobility for wheelchairs

TWIST HUB Handbike is a compact and intelligent electric wheelchair assist system designed for active people who want freedom of movement, increased comfort and high reliability in daily use. The product is part of the innovative range of mobility devices from Klaxon Mobility, which transforms a manual wheelchair into an easy-to-maneuver electric vehicle, whether you're getting around town or want more range for longer rides.

TWIST HUB is distinguished by its modular and portable design, combining a lightweight frame with an efficient electric motor and an intuitive control system, to provide a riding experience tailored to your lifestyle.

Performance and engine

At the heart of the system is a 750W electric motor, designed to provide the power needed for effortless travel and to handle moderate slopes or everyday obstacles on the go. This motor allows the TWIST handbike to reach a maximum speed up to 20 km/h, where local regulations allow this speed, offering an ideal combination of power and safety.

The system can be mounted in both front and rear mounting positions, depending on the user's preferences and wheelchair configuration, which adds flexibility depending on the route and environment in which it is used.

Weight and portability

One of the most important features of TWIST HUB is its low weight, which makes it easy to transport and store when not mounted on the wheelchair. The device weighs 8.45 kg without battery, making it one of the lightest electric assist systems in its class.

The removable Li-ion battery weighs approximately 1.3kg and is approved for transport as hand luggage on the plane, which means you can travel with it without major restrictions.

Battery and autonomy

TWIST HUB is equipped as standard with a 36V 144 Wh Li-ion battery, which offers an autonomy of up to 20 km on a full charge, under normal conditions of use on asphalt or relatively flat terrain. Actual autonomy may vary depending on the user's weight, the selected speed and the nature of the route travelled.

The battery is removable and easy to charge, and its "flight-friendly" capacity allows you to take it with you on vacations or longer trips without worries.

Intuitive control and connectivity

TWIST HUB uses a wireless Bluetooth controller, which provides easy access to speed and braking functions and allows selection of 4 speed levels directly from your device. Bluetooth connectivity gives you the freedom to use the controls without complicated cables or wiring, and the device is compatible with the Klaxon® app, through which you can customize driving settings (acceleration, deceleration, maximum speed) and monitor battery status or remaining range.

The system automatically detects the control type and mounting position, adjusting driving parameters for an optimal and safe experience.

Safety and comfort

TWIST HUB is designed with a electronic and mechanical braking system, which ensures smooth and controlled stops regardless of the route conditions. Braking can be achieved both by operating the Bluetooth controller and via the steering system together with the wheel sleeves, providing increased safety in everyday use.

Depending on the mounting method, the device offers additional safety features, such as maintaining direction on slopes and adaptive speed control, for a safer and more comfortable ride.
